He worked for 15 years in the non-profit world at top conservation organizations and has extensive experience managing programs and projects. Rob says, "What makes ScareCrow Creations unique is that we understand the special needs of non-profits. I can help them figure out which web site features are essential to marketing their mission and serving their members, and which are expensive frills. We give them effective tools at prices they can afford."
"In an intensely competitive market with significant funding cut-backs for non-profits, no organization can afford a non-interactive site that only displays static information." Rob says, "I can build interactive sites that act as effective marketing tools for an organization. If the site is built with server-side scripting, then staff and volunteers can update website newsletters or other content daily or hourly, without knowing HTML. The site could display limited-time promotions and could automatically register new members. In an intensely competitive market with significant funding cut-backs for non-profits, no organization can afford a non-interactive site that only displays static information."
"Getting a quality site completed on time and under budget depends on clear, regular communication" Rob says that the critical component in non-profit web design is good communication. "Getting a quality site completed on time and under budget depends on clear, regular communication between the client and us. Because I spent much of my career facilitating workshops and projects, I'm good at setting up a review and feedback process that gets us to the finished site with minimum revisions. In dealing with non-profits, we're often dealing with an oversite committee of several members instead of one point person, so clarity and structure is essential."
